‘Provenza’ Rises to No. 1 on Solid Stream Business: It Wins Stream Gainer Honors, Gaining 25% to 13.7 Million US Streams Generated in the Week Ending May 5 , according to Luminate, enough to secure its order on Latin Streaming Songs for a second week.

The arrival of “Provenza” in the second place of Hot Latin Songs made the Colombian the second woman to simultaneously occupy the first two places, after Selena in 1995 with “Tú Sólo Tú” and “I Could Fall in Love”, at No.1 and No.2, respectively, for six non-consecutive weeks. Now, the crowning achievement of “Provenza,” succeeding “Mamiii,” marks the first time a woman has replaced herself at No. 1 since Hot Latin Songs launched in 1986.

Provenza’s radio activity also helps propel it to the top of the all-metrics chart (Hot Latin Songs mixes airplay, digital sales, and streaming data). With 7 million viewership impressions earned in the week ending May 8, the track pushes 18-8 on Latin Airplay All Genre in its second week; Karol G’s 14and top 10 on a collection of 23 career entries.

In terms of sales, “Provenza” sold 2,000 downloads in the week ending May 5, enough to take the top spot in Latin digital song sales for a second week despite falling 2% from to the previous week.

Back on Hot Latin Songs, thanks to “Provenza”, Karol G becomes the sixth female artist to rack up at least five number 1s since the start of the count. She joins Gloria Estefan, who continues to lead the category with 15, Shakira (11), Selena (seven) and Ana Gabriel (six) and equals Paulina Rubio’s total.

Here’s a look at Karol G’s five No. 1s on Hot Latin Songs:

“Dame Tu Cosita”, with Pitbull & El Chombo, featuring Cutty Ranks, two weeks at No. 1 from May 12, 2018
“China”, with Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna & J Balvin, 12, one, August. 17,
“Tusa,” starring four-year-old Nicki Minaj, from November 23, 2019
“Mamiii”, with Becky G, 10, from February 26, 2022
“Provenza”, one (to date), May 14, 2022

In addition to his takeover of Hot Latin Songs, “Provenza” pushes 36-25 on the Billboard Hot 100 all genres chart, Karol G’s second-highest ranking among a collection of 11 entries and after debut and peak No. 15 (Feb. 26) for “Mamiii”.

Elsewhere, “Provenza” ranks in the top 10 on both Billboard’s global charts, which rank songs based on selected streaming and sales activity in more than 200 territories around the world. On the Billboard Global 200, it climbs 15-6 while on the Billboard Global Excl. The US chart climbs from 25 to 7, becoming Karol G’s third top 10 on both charts.
