Doctor Strange 2 Fallout Sets Up Avengers Vs. X-Men (Complete Theory)

Go in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmany fans expect Marvel Studios to continue stories leading up to Secret Wars. Secret Wars, in the most recent comic version of the event, sees a foray between two universes manipulated by Doctor Doom to create a new universe where he rules as a god. With “incursion” having been spoken in the Odd next, all eyes are on Secret Wars…but should eyes and expectations be elsewhere, which is also quite exciting, first? Like a Avengers vs. X-Men film?

Spoiler for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to follow. You have been warned!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showed off a few universes in a sequence that saw Stephen Strange and America Chavez fall into different worlds. They landed on Earth-838, the universe where Multiverse of Madness would spend much of his time. On Earth-838, a group known as the Illuminati had formed which included the leaders of such world’s groups as X-Men, Inhumans, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Ultimates. By the time Wanda Maximoff was done with them, each of these groups had their leaders killed. Charles Xavir, Black Bolt, Captain Carter, Reed Richard and Captain Marvel were all brutally killed by the Scarlet Witch as she searched for a world where she could live with her children and lost control of herself then. that the Darkhold influenced him.

At a glance, it can be easy to think something like, “Well, that was another universe. Earth-616 and the Avengers won’t suffer any repercussions from this. important, right?” Maybe wrong! Future stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are all in the hands of these filmmakers during the recent creative retreat, but one decision they could make is to have spinoffs from the Illuminati streak in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This could lead to both a Avengers vs. X-Men event film and Secret Wars…or versions of both at the same time.

A key detail in the sequence that indicates there could be a spinoff is Reed Richards revealing to Wanda that he has children. In the comics, Reed is the father of Franklin and Valeria Richards. Franklin has the ability to warp reality. Valeria is a natural genius. The two children play big roles in the Secret Wars event, with Valeria helping to craft the life raft to survive a cross-universe incursion. If Valeria, Franklin, and Reed’s now-widowed wife, Sue, want revenge on those responsible for Reed’s death, could they seek a multiversal journey to find Earth-616’s Wanda Maximoff? Additionally, Mordo was left alive, and he might be inclined to join the party and stoke a fire to also hold Earth-616’s Stephen Strange responsible for the deaths of Illuminati members.

While Secret Wars seems to be the culmination in vein Infinity War and End of Game for the current saga of Marvel Studios stories, Avengers vs. X-Men could serve as a story point similar to that of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. The comic book of the same name got off to a somewhat sudden and like-for-like existence simply to spark a feud between Marvel Comics’ two most popular factions. Scott Summers started the war on less, so it’s not hard to imagine such a character learning of Xavier’s death and wanting revenge on the Earth-616 characters. The X-Men of Earth-838 battling the Avengers of Earth-616 who might be motivated to protect their Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff sounds like quite the story, with the creative minds at Marvel Studios mightier than mine able to flesh it out. deeper than this theory ever will.

The Avengers vs. X-Men comic is heavily focused on the Phoenix Force, something that could actually rival Wanda Maximoff’s powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Additionally, it culminates with Professor X’s death and his brain being taken by the Red Skull, which leads to a weird avengers comic race. The MCU has plenty of opportunities to play with these storylines and combine them if necessary for a movie title that would bring Marvel fans in droves but, more importantly, have an organic and meaningful story to offer.
